Ethiopia is scheduled to hold its general election on June 1, 2026. This market asks which individual will be the next person to officially assume office as Prime Minister of Ethiopia following that election.
An outcome wins only when the named person has been formally appointed and sworn in as Prime Minister. The deciding milestone is that person officially taking office after the 2026 general election.
An interim or caretaker Prime Minister does not qualify. If someone temporarily performs the role without completing the formal appointment and swearing-in process, the market remains unresolved.
If no qualifying Prime Minister has taken office by December 31, 2028 at 11:59 PM ET, the market resolves to “Other”.
Official information from the Government of Ethiopia is the primary settlement source. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used when necessary.
